I suspect many of you are voting no change because you have not thought it through. Or because you see this as a vengeance hit due to my rep.
But Luca has done this to several other people, not sure if it has occurred at the scale that it occurred to me. He will continue to do it once he moves on from griefing me.
What happens when he decides to do this at Roadkill's or vesper lib?

He wouldn't do that to Roadkill because Roadkill isn't a douche.son wrote:I suspect many of you are voting no change because you have not thought it through. Or because you see this as a vengeance hit due to my rep.

Luca hand picks his griefing victims. Instead of crying about getting ZOMG CAPET BOMBED take look back and try and figure out why you got ZOMG CAPET BOMBED. You might learn something about yourself that Luca already figured out.

Yer a moron, hes capet douched members in his own guild.
But Id try and avoid the personal discussion and keep it on topic. Whos to stop anyone from doing this to anyone else?

Well this is essentially building a wall/lagging others out.
How long could it possibly take to remove this wall?
Hypothetically, let's say someone did this same thing to block the west brit bridge? Would that warrant a need to address this? If so, why? And could this also be applied to player housing?

Either let it go and maybe he will stop, or get even. Regardless I don't think you should try and come on the forums trying to ruin the fun for others. The only thing I know about you is that you were a real douche at that Magician Beach after the idoc. And when I tried to buy a neon hair dye from you you gave me a beard dye by "mistake", which from what I hear I doubt was a mistake at all. I don't know much about you but if I had to guess it sounds like you deserved this and glad he did it. Karma is a b*.

Depends on the location; if its outside a house, item decay will fix it. If its on your doorstep, a simple Razor macro to pick and move the items will work, but even at a 500ms delay, you're looking at a few minutes to drag and move all the items off the porch.Duke Jones wrote:Well this is essentially building a wall/lagging others out.

Also note, if its a physical item like crates or tables, Blade Spirits will break through them very quickly.

Yup, it looks like the general concensus is that this issue doesn't warrant limiting/fixing/changing as most of us aren't the target of griefing and find the mechanic useful in other ways. Looks like you're going to just have to reap what you sow there son. Best fix for it would probably be treating other folks with a bit of respect in future.
Re: Carpet bombing, should there be limits to this?
Please don't try to put a single players face on this issue though, it's worthy to note that this is not something that is effecting just one person. Others have complained and sought resolution to this issue, and have been directed to this thread.
I am also of the opinion that for the most part this activity shouldn't be regulated, but that if it's to excess, i.e., crashing clients it certainly would need intervention.

does it crash anyone's client or just the ones that still have 128 to 256 megs of ram?? lol

Re: Carpet bombing, should there be limits to this?
i'm tempted to vote no to limits because uo is supposed to be a game of freedoms and the new patch makes it an inconvenience for the owner of the house alone.
saying that, items on the front steps show all the time and this sort of thing causes crazy lag and near constant crashing. when it happened at mym, there were 6 of us cutting 1000s of individual pieces of cloth in a small house for about half an hour before we got rid of it all. i restarted my computer like 3 times before i realised what the problem was thinking it was my video card.
if it had been individual items that weren't cuttable or breakable then it would have taken FOREVER to move it all. and it was OBSCENELY laggy.

Yeah I mean if it is affecting peoples ability to play the game then I say do whatever you can do to fix it. It's not fair to the people who crash if something like this occurs, but I would hate to see chopping boxes thing go away completely. But I have come to the conclusion that peoples ability to actually play the game comes before anything else.

I think it's well established that you could chop boxes in other people's houses, worry not about that going away.

Hmmm. I guess "someone" is going to have to try this.Duke Jones wrote:Hypothetically, let's say someone did this same thing to block the west brit bridge? Would that warrant a need to address this? If so, why? And could this also be applied to player housing?

If items arent placed in a house they decay in about 30 minutes so it would be a massive waste of time unless it was used for a temporary strategy for a guild fight or something like that.kaldori wrote:Hmmm.
