When you play with fire, there is a 50/50 chance something will go wrong, and nine times out of ten it does.

I think i have some valid points.... thiefing is overpowered... honestly i dont care that i loose my stuff but i do care when a thief can just continue to steal all you items and there really isnt anything u can do about it... cause he will just run away for an hour chase... or recall... or hide.... so thiefs just have free riegn on everyone.

U have no choice where you weapon drops when you unequip it to cast a spell... at that time. weapon gone...

There's nothing stopping someone from stealing from you at 1 Tile away even if it's just for that split second. Chalk it up to macros and quick mouse hands. The horse stamina thing is another issue.

GM Hiding allows you to hide around corners and not very far away easily.

Thieves were always able to Recall after committing their crime.

Sometimes when someone steals you won't notice it and can only tell by the absence of the item in your pack. They're definitely free to attack (and if you do then they will be highlighted grey to everyone) at this point even if they basically "got away" with the crime.

Make sure you are literally facing the person's avatar when you call guards because this is considered having "Line of Sight". In other words you can't call guards on someone when you're facing the other direction. The guards get confused and think you're trying to call them on a cat or something so they won't respond and will continue their normal guard-y activities.

making several macros for stealing, assigning absolute targets for things like your weapon in hand (in case you try to cast...Ah where's your weapon?! You recalled into the middle of a mob!) or things snooped in your pack set to different hotkeys are just as good as target by type.

Spending too long at a bank or always returning to the same area will allow a patient thief to record himself opening your pack/container(s) for a target, and targeting the things he wants for himself with one hotkey whether it's by type, absolute, or last target.

He prays for your safe return.

Field thieves who can make those fancy "target the stuff you have equipped when it's unequipped for casting or potions" are easily assuaged with multiple packs and a "disarm" Hotkey that makes you drop the weapon into the the recesses of your backpack. As far as I know someone can't steal your Katana when it's layered behind several trapped pouches even if it is a "Target by Type" hotkey.

A good tip (especially if you are a mage) is to not keep one large pile of regeants, gold, bandages, etc. in your backpack. I've seperated my gold into 100 piles of 5 gold before (on OSI servers) and a thief came up to me, searched my backpack, and then told me how mean I was being to aspiring thieves :)

Of course, with Razor they can automate their stealing now...
<Layt> note to self (and others)
<Layt> do not magic arrow braden
<Zebulone> He has inf reflect
<Layt> more like reflect and amplify
<Layt> it was a death sequence unlike any other i had ever seen

This was a topic already adressed a while ago. To sum it up...

Yes thiefing is annoying and more prevalent here than it ever was on osi because:

A. you can macro your way with a third party program freely to gm fairly fast

B. Razor allows you to make some pretty fantastic macros you would have had to do manually in the t2a era

C. there were alot less gm, or event decent thiefs in the T2A era because of how early it was in game. This is why you could always call guards and they die - because they failed at stealing.

D. if anything were changed to accommodate razor, the evolution of technology and game knowledge, or the thieving skill, it would be inaccurate.
