There is no question it is reducing lag big time around multiple houses. I had the same question about the lag as you but running around the museum and towers/keeps & castles near it now shows me just how much quicker it is now.Chaos wrote:i agree .. and love that players can keep this going .. (and I really love this for my mining house .. {the patch in whole} ) but really does this help with lag .. a or a few or a few dozen boats moving without any real reason .. seeing there is a "bug" for this which is pretty easy to do unless you have somone geifing you .. i say remove restrictions for boats which are mobile .. still get the T2A feel without a need to waste server resources..Derrick wrote:Or not:Zorce wrote:This puts a damper on rune boats I guess.

Re: Patch 118: Oct 13, 2009: House/Boat item visibility,
Also enjoying less lag in heavily populated housing areas, however I do miss Roadkills boats in T2A. They were so convienent.
Re: Patch 118: Oct 13, 2009: House/Boat item visibility,
Maybe allow boat decks to be seen only in guard zones?
Re: Patch 118: Oct 13, 2009: House/Boat item visibility,
Thank you for this patch! The rune ship loss does suck (don't be lazy, make a runebook! ). Apparently there's a limit to the number of items UO can display with control-shift, and my house is in K^A town right next to a castle with a billion lockdowns. Control-shift would get overloaded with the castle's items and wouldn't display items in my house. Works great now. Thanks Derrick!
Re: Patch 118: Oct 13, 2009: House/Boat item visibility,
Really happy to hear the positive feedback on the house and boat item filter. It was quite a bit of work to get this functioning properly, and although accurate I was kind of torn on it myself.

Re: Patch 118: Oct 13, 2009: House/Boat item visibility,
Mini-Patch update on 10/16:
- Condemned houses:
- Houses will become condemned if:
- The owner has not logged in for 365 days. (we may adjust this)
- or 90 days if the account is banned.
- If the owner character owns more than one house.
- Condemned houses are not refreshable until the reasons for condemnation are remedied.
- Single clicking the house sign will reveal if the house is condemned.
- Opening the door or house sign to refresh a house will result in No message.
- Houses will become condemned if:
- Boat speeds adjusted, and "forward one" fixed (was going forward two).
- Fixes issue with players falling off boats caused by strange water tiles.
- Boats can travel under bridges
- LOS error: Spells should no longer be targetable on the bottom side of any roof tiles from outside the house.
- Indecipherable maps no longer created if cartographer logs out during map creation.

This mini-patch feels like a step in the right direction. Glorious work, Derrick. Thanks!

Re: Patch 118: Oct 13, 2009: House/Boat item visibility,
I am torn about the boat item part of the patch. Will show all show names of items on a boat if its invisible to me?
Makes it hard for a poor pirate to snag things left on in a wrong spot on a ship. If show all doesnt work it allows a player to place items anywhere on their boat without worries.

It was said mobiles will appear on the ship however. My question is are corpses exempt from the visibility patch?

Yes. Corpses, guildstones, items on steps, and items on planks are always visible.archaicsubrosa77 wrote:are corpses exempt from the visibility patch?

Ehhh I like this on houses but I am not really happy that this patch may have killed piracy.
