Drakes Tamability

Post by schlemoc »

Ok, so I went into wind to start taming up some drakes and noticed a rather peculiar discrepancy. I use the uo stratics site for everything that details taming, and according to it, I can tame drakes at 84.3 taming. Now I went into IRC and asked around and got the t2a wiki taming guide. I found out that it takes 95.1 taming to do a drake, while only 93.9 for a dragon. This makes no sense to me at all since I recall being able to always do drakes at 84.3. I was suggested to post this up in era accuracy to see if it could be remedied. I mean, drakes stronger than dragons? Not that I know of, so why more taming to tame them?

Must be because Drakes are more common thus easier access, the only reasoning I see as to why drakes would be harder to tame.

The difficulties are right out of era stratics:

Drakes were supposedly more "tempermental" than dragons. This is why, like wyverns, they notice you and attack you pretty quickly... quicker than dragons even.

They were changed to a lower taming requirement at some point during UO:R, when the pet control slots and such became instituted.
