I don't remember a lot and it may be a t2a ability but if memory serves me correctly didn't the issue with stables get fixed by having mounts as icon in your backpack? ie double click and your mount would appear in your backpack similar to a ship deed.

I believe those were Ethereal mounts.

people are greedy here and any free slots will get quickly filled with ''place holder'' pets. it would be nice to decay these pets a lot faster then say mares/dragons/WWs etc but this issue has been brought up soooo many times. i find it strange that with such a low population right now it's still a issue, in the last week I've placed two towers and a few brick/patio houses with the new lack of population but i only have a limited amount of stable spots after checking each stable master i pass. I like the idea of each player being given 2-3 spots locked to there account so at least you could keep a few trained pets without worrying about filling the slot so it's there when you return with said pet. With that being said nothing will change and if you really want slot you just have to keep checking and fill any slots you find.

You've also got people who find the "need" to stable 70+ WWs and even more frenzieds. It makes it difficult for new players to the shard to have tamers. Which contradicts all the guides saying tamers are the best source of income.

It's not hard to tame 3-4 dragons, do your farming then just release them after..

Good lord what next....tax the richest players? This is a cut throat game not a socialist experiment. If you want something then take risks and go try and get it because all the whining spent here could be spent in game trying to achieve your goals!

As a person who hasn't played here since 2010, but who played lots of player run servers and played on OSI in 1999, I have to say I think a lot of probelms on UO2A have to do with the fact it's so old. And by that mean vets have had many years to get filthy rich and this has screwed up things. On live, they could code and change the game to counter mudflation, but here nothing can apparently be done about it. If It were me, I'd at least try a second wiped server and see how it goes. Wiping is not a great answer because it kills the essence of MMORPGs which is to progress. Players expect to KEEP what they earn. On the other hand, it addresses mudflation. And if you can't substantially change hte game, it's one of the few options available.

Note that wiping doesn't remove people's memories of how to play or destroy the programs we use to macro. Those things are also a form of mudflation too, meaning the game is still strongly influenced. A lot of this can't be resolved without big changes/additions to the game. For this to be era-appropriate, those things are not options.

I'd still wipe anyway. But I'm not a believer in doing it every 1 or 2 years. That's dumb.

Please don't take my comment the wrong way. I'm not even sure I'm 100% on the side of wiping. It's just ideas. It's also brought about because of Crowfall and their planned policy of "seasons" (or wiping). I've also seen a few emulated servers do this. For example, Magicbane, a shadowbane emulation, wipes periodically. But these're PvP MMO's and very different in nature, since players build cities and war over resources. UO is more sandbox, individualistic and PvM in nature.

As a new player on the shard, I feel the pain of all stables full. I stopped working on a tamer just because of this. Honestly I would reduce the stable slots per character to 5. Also, I would reduce the amount of houses to 1 per account. for only 100 people on at any give time there is no reason why there are so many houses
