I got vague answers when I searched for it. What's the best way to get from 30, trying to gm. Did the paladin sparring get patched?

For wrestling I've found a hired mage works best but anyone you can hire will do. My process:
1 hire a mage
2 bring him home and box him in with tables
3 say 'all guard me' then attack him to start the rassling
4 have another character cast invis on the trainee to get the mage to stop attacking
5 heal-bot the mage

Not the only way to do it of course. Will GM in less than a day easily.

What do I do if the only character I have that can cast invis is the one training wrestling?

There's a bug in the AI which keeps them from reacquiring you as a target and thus hitting you back. Just don't explicitly reattack them after invising (let yourself auto-defend).

Helps if your in a house and you surround the hireling with locked down tables.

Doesn't invising or hiding automatically take you out of war mode? So hence the npc will lose agro and not attack you again? I'm just not understanding how you will continue fighting to gain skill.

you are never in war mode, you are auto-defending. The NPC forgets he was attacking but you continue to auto-defend.

You trap the hireling first, then you attack from a tile away, immediately invis, then walk up and youll be attacking but since you invis'ed, the hireling loses you as a target and doesn't attack back.
