Joining Shadowclan

Post by Vishakt »

If you are ready to play UO a bit differently, be apart of a true group, a community, and not be obsessed with pixels (or at least try not to be  ) then Shadowclan may be for you. It helps if you like to kill things and cut their heads off, but if you like crafting for a appreciative folks then you will be well liked here. Bad English? Perfect. Our language isn't hard to learn and most of it is just misspelled words. Want to get rich? Sorry. Try a human guild. We donate the bulk of our shinies (gold) to the clan to help with events, training, and supplies.

I should point out that we are here to be intelligent monsters. We want to win each fight while we are in it, but overall we do not wish to dominate everyone over the long term. We limit our equipment and generally run on foot, which gives humans an edge (and often makes them overconfident). The idea is for all sides to have fun with it. To be something that we enjoy playing while hopefully enhancing the experience of whatever server we are on.

Our website: http://www.shadowclan.org
Our main UOSA forum: http://www.shadowclan.org/darkmoot/viewforum.php?f=182

To join up:

Step One: Many of us are very old, and we may forget that new players don't know much about the clan. I recommend finding our old sites and reading up a little. If nothing else it will get you excited to start your chapter in our history.

Step Two: Create your orc. You need a name not in use. Check our guild page here or post on our UOSA message board to name check and say hello. Other than that: No hair. Skin color like so.

Step Three: Hoof it to the fort. If no one is there, that's okay. Orc life is hard. Orc life is tough. Orc life is also rewarding and offers unique experiences in UO. If you can't fight well stay a little north of the fort and hunt things you can kill. Find us when you can and we'll get you on the stone and friended to the gruntee hut. If you are playing UO for the first time or somehow you are a long time vet with no idea where the Yew Orc Fort is, it's here:

Your gruntee life should be simple. Learn the ropes and have a good time. Eventually you'll make grunt, and then you can either continue life as you know it or take an active leadership role in the clan. You can join or form a tribe. You can chose not to. The clan likes change, and ideally we will have several different Goths (leaders) during each calendar year. When our numbers are low we may suspend such things but if you role play your character well and have the clan's interests at heart you will have many opportunities.

If you have any further questions post here or on the forum link provided above. Gug'ye fer nuw!
