Thanks guys, I bought the correct hat now, and it is working.

I lowered the DEX on my fighter and gained 35 INT, with the hat, he can cast Flamestrike now.

I am also macroing a mage, so that I will have Meditation and more mana. That will help as well.

I thought that a wizard's hat, gave you 5 more INT (while lowering other stats). I tried it and I see no difference in my stats or mana.
