TBH I think it is creative and should be rewarded, not punished. It is on the same level as people putting up bank boats to avoid thieves.

I've also been hunting with the same pets for some time and noticed their skill gain is incredibly slow or even non-existent. Last year after Mass curse etc were added to the pet case list, I specifically remember having to put down dragons when their magery got too high--this did not take very long!

No but srsly, I think they have to be cut one at a time--not too much of a pain for macroing really.

I think it's undeniable that test center provides players an opportunity to acquire knowledge that would otherwise be unavailable to them without some cost (gold, time, having a good social network). So I myself would prefer it to be up only as necessary.
