Re: My suggestion reguarding events and such
It's not only easier for them you know. Yes it is, and your previous post shows that you don't really know all that much about pking. Pking in T2A was FAR different than it is here. I do not see how you can even attempt to argue that. Oops accidentally you go red, maybe you cast a summons or field ...

No it's not.archaicsubrosa77 wrote:...and you know the statloss thing is a great fear for many reds so they stick to maybe an hour or two of Pking with some really good gear and call it quits.

Re: My suggestion reguarding events and such
It seems that everyone who is thinking up suggestions that float outside of era accuracy would do better at coming up with ways to curb PK'ing on a more personal or guild level instead of calling on the great derrick to "please! please! do something!! pk's receive too much reward for what they...

Re: My suggestion reguarding events and such
Just so you know, my newly formed guild PoV is against PKs, and in the future when we have members I'm planning on doing bounty hunts and the like to try and deter some PKs. I agree definitely though that there is not enough punishment for murderers due to the multi-client capabilities, of course t...

Re: My suggestion reguarding events and such
Just my 0.02c Cara I am not sure you got the point. Again, I have primarily played a PK for the past several years. I am not against PKing. The point was that the pks here are not era accurate at all. Back then when you had 1 account for $9.99 a month you could NOT multi-client and let your guy mac...

Re: Explosion Pots
Ill just post this before someone else does... Stay in town then  Just kidding. You dont really have any right to be left alone outside of town. This is a era specific game mechanic. Pks are part of the game and certainly a big part of the era. Whoa, hold up a second. I never said anything abo...

Re: Explosion Pots
On OSI everyone used UOassist to throw GE pots, it was just as effective as razor is. The issue of what was intended is a moot one as much of UO pvp was developed by the players rather than envisioned by the developers. People also forget that GE pots are a very necessary part of pvp. Along with wa...

Re: Explosion Pots
Heat seeking or not, with the introduction of Razor and programs that allow you to hurl these with near pinpoint accuracy is weak. I doubt these purple pots were ever intended for such use. I know that if one doesn't like it they can learn it, and yes of course I can and will run with these scripts ...

Re: My suggestion reguarding events and such
That's what UO is all about, we spawn some monsters and make an event out of it. The hunters come to kill the monsters which follows with the PKs that come to kill the hunters. We do not in anyway "cater" to any play style or give special treatment. Not trying to be argumentitive, but the...

Re: My suggestion reguarding events and such
I understand much of what Corvin is saying. I was disappointed when I learned this server had stat loss at first. I have primarily played a pk for the last several years I played UO, on Seige and on Hybrid. I haven't made one on this server yet as I am still new and don't get much game time. Maybe I...

The difficulties in recreating 1999 by being Era Accurate
This is NOT a complaint, nor am I suggesting anything be changed. I am merely commenting on this. There is one big difference in playing on this server to playing in 1999 T2A, which was (if I am correct) the goal of this server, to recreate the best time most of us ever had on UO. The problem isn't ...

Re: Old School Skill Gain
Maybe it was just me, but I fondly remember hitting 70 swords for the first time, and then hitting 80 and I thought I was a BADASS. Then came 90 and ultimately 100 and I thought I was the SHIT. Anyone else remember GMing their first combat skill? How long did it take you? I think for me it must have...

Re: Old School Skill Gain
Such a bad idea... it still takes a lot of damn dedication in resource-gathering, macro-setting, and overall time to GM crafting skills (if you aren't part of an elite group) and some non-craftings like resist are every bit as hard. Was it harder in 1999? Could have been. If so, do I want it that w...

Re: Old School Skill Gain
One of the cool things about T2A back in 99 was that it was so hard to raise certain skills. I remember taking advantage of the blade spirits trick to raise resist, but I was relatively new and didn't have enough regs to take advantage of it too much. But I remember being excited because after a cou...
