I've found that in most MMOs there's this extreme vocal minority who for whatever reason wants mounts removed. Every so often the devs will make the mistake of thinking they represent general player sentiment that always results in a massive backlash from the bulk of the players.

wait, people are playing on a ERA ACCURATE SHARD, and these events ARE NOT IN THAT ERA, so therefor, not in the ERA ACCURATE SHARD.... hmmmmmmmmmm Yea that woulda been a great excuse... FYI this shard hit its peak population long after automated events were discontinued. You can stop citing their removal as the catalyst of population decline now.

Allowing pets/mounts to be transported from T2A didn't come until Publish 9 in Dec 2000, a year after our cutoff date.
