The shard isn't dying. The age is testament to that. There's just too many people with too much invested to allow that to happen. The shard has peaked. all sorts of fail going on this thread. the very thing your asking for re: events is the very same reason its not that way. events should be totally random with no rythme or reason to the scheduling and plenty going on already.
