I'm trying to be a mage but I always die so it's getting quite boring.
I would like to be able to participate to events and kill monsters, as well as defending myself from PKs.
Any suggestion welcome.

You should be able to connect and play here with the UOML client. It is what I used prior to installing the recommended bit torrent client you are speaking of. The recommended bittorrent file, if renamed, is just a password protected .zip but I can't extract the files because I don't know the pass....
