Re: Macing or Fencing for a Dexxer
venox, poisoning is a valid topic of discussion in this thread, IMO. It is one of the big benefits of Fencing/Swords over Macing. To just dismiss it here--implying it is not relevant--is counterintuitive. At the moment, I am leaning more towards Fencing, myself. The way I see it - Fencing: 1) Faster...

Re: Macing or Fencing for a Dexxer
Anyone know if the ability for war forks to ignore armor is going to be implemented? I think that would swing the debate way into favoring fencing.

Re: Debuff Disrupts
I have done a full trial run on this issue with the demo tonight just a few minutes ago. I managed to get the npc mage out of town to see if the casted debuffs would work. Sadly, the npc's during this era apparently did not cast debuffs. All he would cast was damage spells and paralyze. This issue ...

Re: Debuff Disrupts
Well to be honest I would have found out last night, but an unfortunate circumstance occurred. I believe that I have figured out a way to get an npc mage out of town with an old bug in the game. The only problem is that it requires at least a day of macroing. I was using an old school macro setup l...

Re: Moongates
I used moongates considerably until I built up a decent rune collection, and I don't know about you guys, but I never saw anyone around when I was cycling through them, much less a PKer or a thief. I don't think making moongates T2A accurate is going to discourage any kind of PvP or thieving, becaus...

Re: Debuff Disrupts
Any news on if the demo confirms debuff disrupts one way or another? I haven't had the time to try it myself.

Re: Debuff Disrupts
I am planning on testing several issues with the demo here soon. Spell debuffs are one of the items on the list. However, it won't be an easy task, because NPC's casting is disabled on the demo. I still believe there may be a possible chance of testing it though. I simply need to get my other PC up...

Re: Debuff Disrupts
Not that the UO Demo should be taken as gold, but if you cast a debuff spell at something that is already affected by the same debuff, you get a fizzle animation and the text "The spell fizzles." I'm not sure whether it would disrupt spell casting or not just because of this, but it seems...

Re: Debuff Disrupts
A question on the use of harm, why would anyone ever use harm to disrupt if weaken disrupted with 100% reliability? I have found several old UO informational sites that give the advice to use Harm as a disrupting tool, presumably because (as Crab said) Harm disrupts worked just as well as debuff di...

Re: Guide : Trophy Turn-In System
Two questions:
1) Are clothes that are blessed using the Clothing Blessed Deed indestructible and not stealable? I'd hate to use a deed on a piece of clothing and then have it destroyed by a macer (for example) or stolen.
2) Are True Black Sandals blessable?

Re: Debuff Disrupts
By the way, for anyone who would like to try find more concrete information, or even just old UO T2A information, I'd recommend using Google's 2001 Search ( http://www.google.com/search2001.html ). Basically, you can search their year 2001 databases and find content that wouldn't be listed by today'...

Re: Debuff Disrupts
I think your wrong about who this would affect. Using debuff disrupts gives PKs a huge advantage over all PvM chars without wrestling. Now, you have a fair chance to get away from a pk by recalling, with this debuff disrupt, it would affect EVERY char on the shard without wrestling out of guards. S...

Re: Debuff Disrupts
Aye. This is why I don't want to make further changes unless we can close the book on this question forever. We've got 250+ real people that play daily on UOSA and are accustomed to how things work now. Taking the chance on a change on a hunch is something that happened once here I don't want to re...
