How bad is the impact of using store bought poison?

do you eventually lose the ability to buy from in town shop vendors?

Does it turn you into a criminal?

so far Ive had issues this weekend raising Str through Herding and raising INT through Evaluate Int.

Both seem to not improve your stats.
