"Grandfathered" Houses

One of the things I remember the most about the T2A era were the grandfathered houses. I played Lake Superior, and I remember the vendor mall I preferred was a small stone keep placed on top of the large wheat field west of Britain (inside the guard zone). Another one I liked was an L-Shaped house w...

Re: What UOR got Right

My point of what they got wrong was that they had a majority player base that wanted nothing to do with PvP, so they gave them a land where they could opt-out of PvP. But then at the same time they incentivized these same people to go to Felucca and become victims for the PK player base. The same th...

Re: Save Times and Unused accounts

Perhaps your criteria was too restrictive on the account wipes? I can't imagine being cheesed off that my account that I sunk 5 hours into was no longer there when I went to log in a year later. Try this purge plan and see what it nets you: if timeSinceLogin < 6 months, pass if (timeSinceLoginHours ...

Re: What UOR got Right

Thanks again for all the input. I agree with most of it :D My real motivation for posting this was to help me decide if I should stay on this shard, move to a different shard or what. In the end I did try others (even OSI, it's actually a little better today than in was a few years ago :D ), and wha...

Re: What UOR got Right

Thanks for the constructive feedback folks! There are a few UOR shards out there, but nothing near the quality or population of UOSA. I hated Power Hour. It made me feel like I needed to macro during that hour to get the most out of it :D Before that I just played the game and didn't really think ab...

What UOR got Right

In my opinion UOR's rule set got many things very right, but in the end failed due to a fundamental flaw. I'd love to get the community's input on this opinion. What UOR Got Right For PvE'ers UOR removed many (but not all) of the ways players were able to grief one another without breaking PvM comba...

Re: Truths about this Era - The Way it Was

You couldn't bring pets across the T2A boundary in either direction. Mares and ostards in the old lands wasn't possible until UO:R (or maybe just before, I forget). I agree that the stabling issue is ridiculous. There are so many newer features that have been adopted here for the sake of convenience...
