Okay well the problem I'm having is that none of the items I have are telling me what they actually do. When I click on them it just simply says dagger or spear without any further information on the weapon, same thing with armor. My attack is also showing up as 0-0. I attacked a monster and was able to damage and kill it, but I'd still like to know what my equipment did...

If you are looking at the AOS status menu, more of these things don't apply in the T2A area, you can switch to the old status menu on the Razor Options tab, check "Use Pre-ASO status window"
There is no was to see raw numbers on weapons and armor in game in the T2A era (except spell charges)
