Client Issue: Tilde[~] not displaying

Post by noxmonk »

REPORTED ISSUE: When I type a tilde[~] in-game it does not display in my speech.

ISSUE DETAILS: I'm trying to find screenshots, however the asian invasion of 99 had the azn fuckers running around with their weird ass laugh (we use haha, hehe, etc.), which was keke la~ always with the tilde for no god damn reason. I'd like to see the tilde.

STEPS TO RECREATE: Type a [~] and hit enter.

EXPECTED RESULTS: ~ should display.

Looking into this. This is possibly an issue with the switchover to unicode, although I don't have those dates on hand. I'll see if I can get it working, but it may be a client issue.

Is this also the case with some Swedish letters? That it's client side?

ä Ä

Those turn to '?' though so it's a little different, those are unicode characters which could actually possibly be at least converted to their unaccented versions, but the tile just cones out blank. It may actually be a client side font issue.

Damn all these clients! ;)

I actualli remember playin' with mi IRL buddies back in the day and always writing without those letters... Was hell when a project was due in school, turned everything in with a TON of spelling errors due to not using the proper letters. Haha!
