He is alive and well, and am sure appreciates your concern. Your best chance is PMing him on IRC in the mornings, from server up to 11EST is the time I've found most likely to find him on.

I usually just tossed him an email derrick@uosecondage.com whenever I wanted to get in touch. He gets like a jillion forum PMs, so it's easier to deal with email.
