Order/Chaos suggestions.

For ideas on how to make Second Age a better shard. Can it get any better? Maybe.

I've always been intrigued/active in the PvP aspect of UO and various other MMORPGs so here goes.

What if there were 'in game' battles of importance (bragging rights) between Order/Chaos guilds that were created by a story teller and coded by Derrick and his team of programmers. If lets say Team A (Chaos) or Team B (Order) won this event, each player would receive so many points for particpating and the players with the most kills would get additional points. What does this translate into?

(1) Special Ranking (Titles) for dedicated Order/Chaos soldiers participating in these events. I dont mean that one battle would give anyone any special title, but a culmination of many 'event' battles that will be determined periodically by the programmers and story teller (game master) that will ultimately result in a special 'bestowed' title.

To me, this would give incentive for players to join one side or the other and to participate in regional conflicts/escorts/battles/etc., Being a former soldier and role playing (GM) geek, I loved huge scale battles and plots that shaped and defined the players (soldiers) who fought for their side (faction/guild). Just an idea.

I would be more than happy to help create back stories for these events and create flash presentations much like teaser trailers for upcoming episodes if interested.

I can't say we'll be able to get anything like this in right away, but this is a great idea.

i played a shard called Necessary Evil back in the day, they had a similar system, it was an O/C system with a faction infused ranking system (hence the GM of chaos was Commander to Lord Blackthorn)--The two opposing teams (o/c) would battle for a town sigil of Britian only, it was weird but fun, and no, control of britian didn't do anything for you except allow placement of faction guards- no taxes ;p
i'm still all for the pvp ladder, the tourneys get weak sometimes due to some peoples tactics (precasting heals, spamming, disrupting), its all a part of PVP, but with a pvp ladder you could choose not to duel those who are known to use waktactics and more fun would be had D:

although its not accurate it would be a nice idea for town sigils to be in place, would lean towards more pvp/interactment for town (one town maybe) control

I like the idea. Only thing I would say is... no events, no scheduled times...What if it would come up without notice like how the npc invasions of towns is for example. You could announce something and any chaos online that showed up would fight whatever order online came. Give them a common fighting ground to get everyone in one place for something. I just worry about things such as these taking away from the spontenuity that uo is.. thats why I suggest no scheduled times or anything. Just an idea

The O/C faction system i was talking about allowed sigil to only be stolen from like 6pm - 7pm hence all the pvpers would log on and fight until control was obtained, or an hour was up.. it was somewhat of a "mini pvp event" but it was everyday at same time so it was something to really look forward to, i think it would boost pvp immedietly tbh..
