Chainmail + RING ARMS
As a smith selling suits of armour all day i would like ot know from the buyers
do you want these archer suits still with ring arms? or do you want me to leave out the ring arms? or put up to plate arms? as the layering of the armour has changed the AR value.
any input would be appreciated
dex suit rings arms is -1 compared to a suit without any arms

Re: Chainmail + RING ARMS
Since the arms don't offer any extra protection I would say forget the ring arms and drop the price a bit.
How much armor do the plate arms add and how much dex is lost?

Re: Chainmail + RING ARMS
actually i just tried throwing some NON gm plate arms over my chainmail
it have me 0 ar extra
i dunno if thats because theyre not GM or if its some layering business or what, blackfoot do u have an answer there
i remember clearly plate arms on most archer suits in era, and the ar bonus was there

Re: Chainmail + RING ARMS
With the current layering system, plate arms only yield a +1 to your overall armor if you are wearing a chain tunic. If you are not wearing a chain tunic, then it is +5-6 (the extra point coming from fraction points in certain combinations).
Helm + chain tunic/legs + plate arms/gorget = 30 AR, -3 dex
Helm + chain tunic/legs + plate gorget = 29 AR, -1 dex
I tried replacing the chain tunic with ring, but that didn't prove as efficient even with the higher AR bonus from plate arms.
EDIT: The above numbers were produced with GM-made items.
