Actually, I shouldn't have bothered with the forums. I found someone who provided me with locations in exchange for a few brown dragons in game.

Was T2a Oasis one of the locations? I have NEVER seen one nightmare in that place. I paid someone 10k for 3 runes of known Nightmare locations...number of nightmares found there..0. I used to find Nightmares often before i had the skill to tame them...they even walked right up to me in town before! I have found exactly 1 nightmare since i gained the ability to tame them...It was in an event area! Someone musta let theirs go wild and i was able to tame it easily with no fuss. I later went afk for about 2 minutes in cove and Matron De August(i dont know if there is a relation) killed me and gated it out.

Oasis was absolutely a location for a mare spawn in T2A. Long story short, a friend unblocked the mare spawn for me during this era on OSI and I tamed about 4 mares there before I gave up waiting for them to respawn and promptly blocked the spawn again with the last mare tamed. Sold three of the mares for a million a pop so it's definitely something I remember very well. However, I also remember there being at least 4 other spawn locations in this era and each location was blockable by stabling the mare in T2A and not taking it off the server (something not era accurate as far as I know).

I'm sure it'll get as much rage as publicizing rares did.

As Arcott stated... even when you do know the spots getting a mare is extremely difficult, etc. Even though there are a lot of tamers on this server, i think that most of them end up getting frustrated with even looking for mares because they are never there and then stop. But, then some new tamer takes his spot. I would guess that an average of 10 to 15 people go through the mares phase... when one drop, another takes his spot. Kindof like when they lock up one drug dealer, another kid takes his place.

How do you block and unblock monster spawns? By taming one and leaving it on the same subserver? Also does that work on this shard?
