Discussion: "Extinct" Animals

Ok, I want to launch this conversation off with these five animals.

Dark Steeds(Tameable-RARE)
Silver Steeds(Tameable-RARE)
Dark Wolves(Tameable-rare?)
Silver Wolves(Tameable-rare?)
Silver Serpent (but not the large giant serpent, the small snake animation) (Tameable?)

There is some really good history on the Dark/Silver animals, I encourage you to read the link it is a short read!!

I know there are other Extinct animals out there, Stratics has a really good resource. But I think we might have a chance on implementing some of these lost monsters/animals? Please feel free to dig up any information you can on this! From my reading I'm really starting to believe that Silver Steeds and Dark Steeds existed in our target time frame!! And if that's the case I would LOVE to see a RARE(very rare) spawn of these implemented, it would be great to ride a Silver Steed.

Oh a little tid bit of info on Silver Steeds. GM's were actually instructed at one point to delete these on site! OSI went as far to wipe these animals from game when stabled! It is rumored some survived from smart players who mounted and logged off, preserving their mount.

The steeds were an accident, and were never meant to spawn. As a result, they were nearly wiped out by gms and stables used to delete them. Silver and dark steeds are approximately the same strength as today's nightmares. They only exist on older shards that accidentally spawned the steeds and players who tamed them cleverly logged out on them to protect from stables/gm deleting them. These creatures are now considered "illegal items" and players who are caught owning them are jeopardizing their account.

So we have bugs that allow a woman to have a beard, because they are fun... How about a rare spawn of these Steeds?

There have been 4 known dark steeds to have spawned since launch here. Only two actually exist as of this moment, and they are owned by: Myself, and Vlastlav (TG)

As for the silver steeds, none are rumored to exist, but You never know.

As for the other animals, i've not heard a discussion on them, thank you for bringing them up. ^^

welp since 'dark' steeds are allowed to spawn rarely why not the 'silver' steeds

both were technically SP animals but got one here why not the other.

i did actually see a silver steed in t2a on great lakes a very long time ago

Here's a couple interesting things about Silver Steeds

Good aligned, very strong horses that seem to glow. They will attack all Evil beings and monsters on sight. Their preferred method of attack is magic, their fireballs can do 30 damage per hit. Stat and skillwise they fall in the same category as the Nightmare. Killing a Silver Steed may increase your Fame but will lower your Karma, depending on what levels you currently are ofcourse.

I would assume old dark steeds would be grandfathered colors, although I can't even tell the difference, but partially color blind so what the hell. I hope silver steeds are the rarest of the rares, would be a really nice touch.
