cA Adventures: I'm a Merchant Now!

Post by applejack »

Please refer to cA Adventures: The War on Trammel, Part 3 for reference.

So sometime a while back I was thinking about something new to do. Messing with [$$$] seemed like a fun idea and immediately I thought up a plan. Who do I know in that guild? Oh yeah... my buddy Brules! Him and I had gotten that PoV guy red at the [cA] archer house and I knew he would help. He was almost a member of cA and has rolled with us many times. So I asked him about the advantages of membership.
Brules wrote:They are actually looking for a smith vendor badly as theograd moved all of his to his vendor house mall......so if you gm smith it would be great to have someone take over those vendors for armor and weapons. He sold a ton at the $$$ tent!

Hop in #$$$ and get to know us!
OMG I have a blacksmith at 99.1! Neat! So I followed my buddy Brules' advice and headed over to their channel. When I got there I realized that they really didn't like cA at all. This puzzled me why a merchant guild would hate a group of friendly bards, so I decided that it would be best if I didn't tell them that information. I figured I'd try to join and spent the whole next day working on GM Blacksmithing.

Image

Success! Then I sent a PM to Wise asking about joining their reich.
Wise wrote:Welcome to the club
Awesome! A little while later...

Wise then friended me to their rune tower and let me place a couple vendors there. He promised that they could then get moved out to the tent. I did just that.

Image

The plan was in motion. Now I just had to wait for the vendors to get moved. It took quite a while.
Wise wrote:Just for anyone who is trying to get a hold of me or is wondering why my vendors are not stocked I just moved and will not have internet access at home until the blah blah...
I responded:
Hey Wise,

Every day I check to see if my vendors have been moved to the tent (mainly because its so cool ha ha) and I guess this would explain why they aren't lol. Look forward to your return.
And I waited. Finally the day arrived!

Image

Me and my fellow bard chumbucket put the plan into motion. Clearly there needed to be more vendors in the tower. It seemed empty now that the ones were moved to the tent. So I helped them out and placed many vendors inside! Not only that but chumbucket and I put 10k gold on each of the vendors as they were placed. That should last a long time!

Now as a friend of the tower I felt it was my duty to review all of the people banned. I decided that there were far too many and instead of picking and choosing, I decided to liberate them all.

Image

Image

Then I decided that my vendors in the tent needed to sell more "legitimate" items.

Image

I checked over my vendors inside the tower, all 14 of them, and decided that all was good.

Image

Image

I then retired home. A job well done by all in [cA] who helped in this operation.

its hardly a adventure much less the challenge to pretend to be a merchant and get a vendor at the $$$ tower, our relaxed style of play and passion to help the community is our biggest weakness, we dont do background checks or charge for our tent use and encourage new merchant growth, any player on second age could have gotten a merchant vendor with us, this took zero skill, congratulations :)

sad you couldn't come up with a more original plan though, cA creativity is getting pretty weak lately

Incorrect. F'n with your new player estates would be pwning people trying to help others out. Everything that the $$$ tower offers can be found elsewhere. :)

What I find amusing is that cA sees fit to target a merchant guild, then claim leetness for it....

Its not hard to make a merchant, kiss wises ass and get in the guild.

So you did nothing special,

The only thing you have done is prove the fact you are a sad excuse of a person who would put their own ego above the new players of this server who are now having trouble at the tower due to your dickitry.

I dunno, I've never seen this before, I feel like it's pretty original. Also kind of tough to claim it's no big deal when your entire guild comes into the thread (and the other one) just to reiterate how it's not important at all.

This whole situation of Tabius scamming, then getting his entire guild pwned, reminds me of my favorite movie Diggstown:
Never con a con man - especially if he's better than you.

So I decided that we at [cA] needed to put these fine vendors to use. But I thought it might be a bad idea to have my old blacksmith coming back looking as is. You never know if a nasty [$$$] member will be around. I figured Bob should learn a new trade so he could wear a disguise kit. Behold... Steven the treasure hunter! Ready to inconspicuously use the $$$ rune tower..

Image

It was slow pushing through all the vendors, but it gave me plenty of time to place two raffle tickets and another 10k on each!

Image

Back to the bank for more GLD!

Image

The vendors were very happy to be able to work for so long!

Image

Finally I checked the status on one of them to get an idea of what they all looked like.

Image

The way I see it, the vendors are plenty well off until Wise accepts our terms and surrenders.
