It's pointless to argue with Faust. He ignores anything you say and spouts something completely different in a long, drawn out, incoherent thought.

When have I ever wanted debuffs to be able to be spammed over and over to disrupt. I am the kind of person who does things efficiently and timed correctly, such as hitting attack last to get the best chance of causing the other person to waste a swing. I do not hold it down like most people do since I have it on my mouse. I believe in having to save debuffs other than weaken for when you actually need them. But yet again, you make some bs up about how I have been wanting to have debuffs spammable. Typical Faust response.

Do you see anything in my paragraph that states" you need Razor to make this spell to be effective"?

It sure helps. Razor (or a UOA macro) basically allows you to spam mini heal while still keeping your hand on the mouse and moving around. With a low latency connection, it can appear like the person never actually stops and casts.

But that brings up another difference: Latency and server lag.

There was a time that EA upgraded their servers, re-worked their data centers, as more and more people started using DSL and Cable modems; many things that weren't possible before became possible.

Back in the day, someone on a T1 that lived near a data center, was basically unkillable; no doubt why the exploiters started using UOE fast walk. Not quite the same, but it was hard to kill someone who could just blip on and off the screen when they needed to. Unless you'd ever played UO on two computers at the same time, you can't imagine how out of sync everyone's view of the game world really was. You might think you were running over to a spot to smack someone with a halberd, but in reality they were no longer in the spot. This is why circling remains a pretty effective means for a mage to avoid melee damage.

I said "you and your guild" Choppa... Your entire guild was the worst complaining whiners that has walked the face of this server. Mazer and Pisces were two of the worst critics about debuffs not interrupting 100% of the time. I honestly can't remember you complaining about debuffs being constant but your entire guild would complain about the same ol' crap over and over so it would be hard to believe that you never did. You are always whining about how spells don't have a guarenteed interrupt.

Who wouldn't put you in the same category with the rest of your guild full of whiners?

The Ultima Online client doesn't queue targets...

If you held the macro down it might work, but nothing near the rate that Razor can perform.

If you actually played the server instead of posing 3000+ times on the forums you would see what everyone is complaining about.

I have taken a break from the game as stated numerous times already... I only post from work since it gets mighty boring here. I have stated many times that I will continue to support and help out the server towards accuracy issues for Derrick even though I am on a break from playing... I would probably help him out even if I ended up quitting... I don't do it for any personal gain inside the game at all. I think his vision towards how UO should be is ideal, and I have always thought this way towards Pre:UOR shards.

I don't doubt that the heal spell is over powered.... It is starting to get tiresome having to repeat the same comment over and over again. However, I stated in this thread already that personally the "in mani" spell should be lowered slightly in my opinion. I was the person that suggested the spell probably was lower during the era since no one used it back then. Pretty much everyone agreed and it was fixed when accurate information lead to its correction here recently...

I do plan on logging in just to test out the recent changes but not until I upgrade my system.

Uhm..i dont use target ques in razor, i use the UO ones. And honestly i have no prob what so ever mini heal spamming out of anything. Faust Choppa has a hell of a lot more credibility on this subject than most of the other posters do because he does understand pvp very well, obviously.

What i want to know is, since you guys are so gung-ho about era accuracy first, and players opinion on pvp second, would you still be aiming for a era accurate shard if it slowly started collapsing and you ended up with 15 players average? Because the last two shards i played previously did this exact same thing w/ different UO era's and were so adiment on making it as era accurate as possible, while at the same time disregarding the general opinion on how the players wanted it, that the shards ended up dying completely. You can be accurate but when you start making so many changes to a point where your players become tired of it and are unhappy with them, you'll begin to see how dead things can become.

I understand this isn't just a pvp shard, which is exactly the attitudes of the admins on the last shard i played, but if you run off all the pvper's im sorry but your shard loses huge value. Fact is, most people play this game for pvp now with the exception of a small minority of people who enjoy crafting their time away. But if you completely disregard the voice of the players then whats the point in even having your shard in the first place.

This exactly why I said that razor has nothing to do with the effectiveness of mini heal. There are some ignorant people on here.

I just want to add this to the discussion. I've been looking a lot in the old newsgroups for the usage of the heal spell back in 1999. Most discussions I found about healing only spoke of Greater Heal as if the 1st level Heal spell wasn't worth casting.

GM Magery won't be worth much offensively without Evaluate Int but
50 point In Vas Manis are a hell of a thing. If you go this route
you'll want to have a UOA macro for In Mani + Target Self, that'll
give you uninterruptable 15 point heals for 4 mana at a keystroke,
a great way to save your ass long enough for a bandage or In Vas Mani
to bail you out.

Very nice find.
I've yet to see a reference anywhere indicating a less than 10 pt mini-heal for a GM mage.

If anyone finds more info on this please start a new thread.
